DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Wilfred was located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 39.2 West. Wilfred is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through Sunday, followed by a westward motion late Sunday and Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected during the next day or so. Weakening is expected on Monday, and Wilfred is expected to dissipate by Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
