AT 11 PM AST...0300Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE ALEX WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 44.9 NORTH... LONGITUDE 47.4 WEST OR ABOUT 300
MILES... 485 KM...EAST-SOUTHEAST OF CAPE RACE NEWFOUNDLAND.

ALEX IS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST-NORTHEAST NEAR 45 MPH...72 KM/HR...
AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24
HOURS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 85 MPH...140 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER

COAST OF THE AVALON PENINSULA...BETWEEN CAPE RACE AND CAPE SAINT
FRANCIS...AND ALONG THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE BONAVISTA PENINSULA AND
POSSIBLY CONCEPTION BAY.
