At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Fred was
located near latitude 23.4 North, longitude 41.8 West. Fred is
moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and a
turn toward the north and then to the northeast is expected during
the next two days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible during the
weekend.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
to the north of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
