DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine was
located near latitude 15.2 North, longitude 44.6 West. The
depression is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A
general northwestward to north-northwestward motion is expected to
continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, and
the depression could become a remnant low by Friday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb (29.80 inches).
