DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ida was
located near latitude 17.3 North, longitude 44.8 West. Ida is moving
toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this general
motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected during the next
day or so. Ida is forecast to become nearly stationary by Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some gradual strengthening is possible during the next 48 hours.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 185 miles (295 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
