DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ida was
located near latitude 21.2 North, longitude 48.8 West. The storm is
moving toward the north-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). Ida is
forecast to slow down tonight and begin a meandering motion by
Tuesday. A slow eastward or southeastward motion is forecast
Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast over the next couple of days.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 km)
mainly to the east of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
