DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Lee was located
near latitude 30.2 North, longitude 51.5 West. Lee is moving toward
the west-southwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A turn toward the west
with a slight increase in forward speed is expected on Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 90 mph (150 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some strengthening is expected over the next 24 to
36 hours, but a weakening trend is forecast to begin on Wednesday.

Lee is a small hurricane. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up
to 15 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds
extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 979 mb (28.91 inches).
