DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Lee was located
near latitude 36.3 North, longitude 54.6 West. Lee is moving toward
the northeast near 22 mph (35 km/h), and this general motion is
forecast to continue with an increase in forward speed until Lee
dissipates Saturday night.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional weakening is forecast, and Lee is
expected to become a tropical storm on Friday, then dissipate
Saturday night.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 984 mb (29.06 inches).
