DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Florence was located near latitude 18.6 North, longitude 39.8 West. Florence is moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h). A slightly slower west-northwestward motion is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected through tonight, but some weakening is forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
