DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 33.8 North, longitude 49.0 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the north-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn to the north is forecast later today, followed by a turn to the northeast on Monday with an increase in forward speed. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is possible through Monday. Gabrielle is then expected to weaken starting Monday night as it begins a transition to become an extratropical low. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the center.
