DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Imelda was located near latitude 31.3 North, longitude 95.5 West. The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through today. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. A gradual weakening is forecast during the next 24 hours. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1009 mb (29.80 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Imelda is expected to produce the following rainfall amounts through Friday: Across the Upper Texas Coast into far southeast Texas...additional 5 to 10 inches with isolated storm totals of 25 to 35 inches. Across portions of southwest Louisiana...Additional 3 to 5 inches with isolated totals of 10 inches. Rest of east Texas...2 to 4 inches with isolated totals around 8 inches.
